Open Day Tours - Enjoy a walking safari amongst rescued animals

Open Day Tours

Farm Animal Rescue acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which the sanctuary operates, the Garumngar clan of the Jinibara people and we pay our respects to Elders past and present.

Meet rescued farm animals

There is no greater delight for us than extending a warm welcome to our sanctuary, where rescued farm animals freely roam. The experience of visiting our sanctuary is truly unique, and it fills our hearts with joy to witness the happiness it brings to our visitors. It is important to note that bookings are crucial and that each person must possess a valid ticket to gain entry to the sanctuary.

A unique animal sanctuary

Farm Animal Rescue is a unique animal sanctuary, so be prepared for a visit unlike any other. Visit the sanctuary on Open Day and you’ll enjoy a walking safari amongst farm animals who roam freely on 55-acres of Queensland bushland.  On your visit, you’ll stroll across fields, past dams and waterholes, and through the forest to meet the animals wherever they have chosen to spend the day.

Important to note!
The sanctuary paddocks are hilly and there are rough paths. Visitors need to have at least an average level of fitness and good mobility to successfully complete the tour.

Choose adult or family tours

You can choose from one of two tours when booking a tour on a Farm Animal Rescue Open Day.

Adult Tours are for those aged years 15 and older, and include stories about the rescued animals who live at the sanctuary, along with education about the lives of those who are not lucky enough to be saved from the meat, wool, and egg industries.

Family Tours are for families who have children aged under 15. In consideration of the fact that the treatment of farm animals in the food and wool industries can be quite distressing, especially for young children, family tours take a compassionate approach. The focus is on introducing children to the individual lives and unique personalities of the chickens, pigs, cows, goats, and sheep who are fortunate enough to call the sanctuary their home. This approach is designed to create a nurturing and caring environment, where children can connect with these beautiful creatures in a way that is sensitive to their well-being and happiness.
