Pasture die-back affecting sanctuary feed - Farm Animal Rescue

Pasture die-back affecting sanctuary feed

Can you feed us for a day?

We were extremely lucky with abundant pasture throughout 2021.  However, we are now experiencing pasture die-back to around 20% to the top and front paddocks.   Pasture die-back is a condition observed across Queensland and northern New South Wales,  causing the death of pastures by affecting plant health and function.

Due to this die-back it is expected we will need to start to supplement feed for resident goats, sheep and bovines by at least 25%.

Supplementing this feed will cost around $2100 per month, or around $70 per day.

And to be honest, we need your help.

Can you help us feed the ruminants for one day?  Or alternatively, if you are not already, would you consider becoming a regular donor?   For even as little as only 80 cents a day ($25 per month) you will be providing feed and housing for all our rescues throughout this year, and join us in changing the world for farm animals one rescue at a time.

"How wonderful it is that nobody need to wait a single moment before starting to improve the world."

Anne Frank

A one off donation of $70 will supplement the ruminants for one day and keep their bellies full.

An ongoing donation of $25 per month (only 80 cents per day!) will also help provide

  • Bedding and straw for the sheep and goats
  • Ongoing supplementary food for the elderly bovines with poor teeth who require nice mushy pellets and coconut sugars
  • Feed for the sanctuary pigs who love their food and will ensure they get all the nutrients they need to stay healthy
  • Ongoing and emergency medical care for all residents
