We are hiring! - Farm Animal Rescue

We are hiring!

Farm Animal Rescue are seeking a part time Animal Care Attendant to work three days a week. Hours are long and the pay is short, but you get to care for those animals that were the most abused in the world, so it's worth it, right?

There's a fair amount of downtime during the day, so you need to be happy just hanging around the animals when there are gaps between duties. You may have noticed that it rains all the time now, so you need to be happy (content?) with sloshing around in the mud and rain for weeks on end. During down time you need to be on call, so remaining at the sanctuary is important during downtime.

* Variable shift roster, which may require a full day to turn into two half days
* Must have own transportation, public transport is not available here
* Holding a driver licence is a definite advantage
* Start times vary between 4.45am and 6.30am depending on the season
* You will have so many lives dependent on you. You must be very responsible
* Extra shifts may be necessary from time to time
* You must be able to carry 25kg bags, bales and packages
* You must adhere to safety and biosecurity requirements precisely

While no experience is necessary, we will give preference to applicants with an impressive record of sanctuary or other volunteering. Caring for animals can be overwhelming, so it's important that you share our dedication to a much better world for farmed animals.

Salary is $470.07 per week plus super. The salary will be adjusted on July 1st in line with the Veterinary Services award. The position is offered as a six week fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension.

So if your dream is to work amongst animals, working in the rain, mud and poo. If your dream is to go all out to help an animal despite them wanting to kick, scratch and headbutt you. If your dream is to provide the best of care to animals in an environment that is both chaotic and structured. If your dream is to care beautifully for an animal throughout their life, and to provide the best end of life care. If your dream is to make life for animals so much better than it started out, flip us an application at farm@farmanimalrescue.org.au
